THE first phase in the redevelopment of Oxford Brookes University's Headington campus starts today.
Vice chancellor Professor Graham Upton, will be taking a sledgehammer to the Darcy Building at 10am, clearing a third of the site for its £110m redevelopment.
This will also be Professor Upton's last act as vice chancellor before he retires later this month, to be replaced by Professor Janet Beer.
He will be joined by current staff, and also by Keith Parsley, who worked in Brookes' Engineering Department and was at Brookes when Darcy was built.
