A MAN who killed a pensioner in a head-on collision has been jailed.
Stephen Horwood, of Greenhill, Blackbird Leys, Oxford wiped tears from his eyes as he was jailed for six years for causing the deadly smash shortly after 10am on September 7 last year.
71-year old Michael Smith died as a result of the crash and his wife, Susan Smith, who was a passenger, sustained serious injuries.
Horwood, 37, admitted causing death by dangerous driving and causing serious injury by dangerous driving at Oxford Crown Court today.
Judge Ian Pringle QC jailed him for a total of six years for the crash and Horwood was banned from the roads for six years.
