AN ARCHAEOLOGICAL dig on land set for a 140-bedroom hotel has begun and could unearth medieval remains.
Work has begun on the recently demolished Cooper Callas building site paving the way for a new Marriott hotel to be completed next year.
An initial assessment, conducted by Oxford Archaeology, revealed the site had the potential for 'late Saxon, medieval, post-medieval and Victorian remains.'
