The Division 2 promotion race is now wide open after Abingdon Vale slumped to a shock 36-run defeat at Challow & Childrey.
Just ten points now cover the top four after Vale failed to chase Challow's 172 all out, in which left-arm spinner Paul White took 7-50 and Michael Phillipson struck 53.
Opener Ben Humpage (34) was the mainstay of the visitors' reply, but Ian Demain (7-55), who took four caught and bowled wickets, worked his way through the top order before Olly Dimbylow (3-33) mopped up the tail.
Challow & Childrey 30pts, Abingdon Vale 7.
Horspath are now just one point behind Abingdon after they enjoyed a predictable success at Kingston Bagpuize, who look doomed.
Rob Keates (53) gave Kingston a good start, but change bowler Ned Murray then intervened by taking 6-28 to leave Martin Shepherd stranded on 63 not out.
Kingston's 186 all out never looked enough once spinner Dick Giles had to leave the field injured and Adam Pitt (84no) and Phil Chanel (76no) saw them to an eight-wicket win.
Kingston Bagpuize 10, Horspath 30.
Oxford 2nd are just two points further back in fourth after they scraped a victory at struggling Morris Motors Exiles.
The Exiles were 94-6 after 40 overs before Nitin Sehgal smashed 133 from 110 balls to take them to 197 all out in the final over.
Richard Beer's gentle away-swingers produced figures of 4-54.
Chris Thomas then top-scored with 52 as Oxford reached 198-5 with two balls to spare.
Morris Motors Exiles 13, Oxford 2nd 30.
