Thieves made off with an American Indian Tipi worth up to £800.

The tent - described as 16ft tall with a sand coloured canvas and wooden poles - was stolen from a garden in Nuneham Courtenay, near Abingdon, on Tuesday, July 31.

Police only released an appeal for information today and would not reveal details about where in Nuneham Courtenay it was stolen.

Det Sgt Roger Lamboll, of Oxford CID, said: "It is likely that the thieves may try to sell the tipi on.

"It is large and not easy to conceal, I would like to appeal to anyone who may have seen the tipi or anything suspicious in the area at the time."
