SUSPECTED illegal immigrants who tried to run away from police after getting off a lorry on the M40 have been detained.
An operation run by the Home Office and Thames Valley Police caught 14 suspected illegal immigrants near Lewknor on Friday.
A police dog, Iggy, helped detain eight people, while three others tried to run away through fields – until the dog caught up with them. Another two were detained by PCSOs and another was found after a police helicopter guided Iggy to them.
Iggy belongs to Thames Valley, Hampshire and Isle of Wight Police forces' joint dog section.

The Home Office said immigration enforcement officers were called to help police at junction 6 of the M40.
It said 11 people were arrested suspected of entering the UK illegally and then taken into custody.
