THIS month one of Oxfordshire's most palatial hotels, Eynsham Hall, went on sale for a cool £8.25m.
The owners hope it will stay as a hotel, but it could just become a family home.
So how would the asking price compare with some of family homes already on the market in Oxfordshire?
As it turns out, it wouldn't even be the the most expensive...

Situated in an 125-acre estate, Coombe Park offers more than just one property for the high asking price.

Described as “a compact Oxfordshire estate with enormous potential on the banks of the River Thames” it also includes a country house with seven bedrooms, a cottage, boat house, stables and sports pavilion.
Brightwell Park, Brightwell Baldwin, Watlington - £8m (Savills)

Brightwell Park sits on the edge of the village of Brightwell Baldwin at the foot of the Chiltern Hills between Henley-on-Thames and Oxford.

Though the least expensive on this list, the Grade II* property has 13 bedrooms and is a chance to own a piece of 16th century history.
As well as original Tudor features and an entire wing added during the Victorian period, the property also sits in more than four acres of land, including a walled kitchen garden.
