OXFORD'S Toys R Us store will remain open despite the retailer closing a quarter of its UK stores.
The toy-seller has announced the full list of stores closing in Spring 2018 and Oxford's Botley Road shop has been saved.
A second Oxfordshire store, in Banbury's Castle Quay Shopping Centre, will also remain open.
In total there are 105 Toys ‘R’ Us branches across the UK.
Some 26 will close due to ‘evolving needs of customers in today’s UK retail market' with hundreds of staff losing their jobs.
Affected stores include Aberdeen, Belfast, Cardiff, Manchester and Watford.
Retail analysts have said all retail firms with big, out-of-store models like Toys R Us are having to face up to downsizing and restructuring in the wake of the e-commerce boom.
