Hands On, Oxford's science gallery, is turning into a school for witches and wizards this summer with the beginning of an interactive exhibition called Science of Wizardry.
The exhibition demonstrates how magic can happen in real life. Children can learn how levitation, invisible ink and illusions are all possible with simple science.
The exhibition opens tomorrow and runs until September 4 and is open Monday to Saturday, 10am to 4pm.
Visitors on Saturdays will experience additional demonstrations such as a Dragon's Breath Cannon and Colour Changing Potions. To add to the fun, prizes will be given to those in the best Harry Potter costumes.
The exhibition is suited to children aged five to 12 although anyone with a love of magic and science can take part.
Natalie Ford, the Science Project Officer, said: "The exhibition is a great way for kids to act like wizards and be inspired by science in the process."
To launch the new exhibition, Hands On is offering free taster sessions during the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Launch Party at Borders bookshop today, the eve of the release of J.K. Rowling's seventh and final Harry Potter book. Activities will start from 6pm onwards.
Hands On is at 1-5 London Place, St Clements, Oxford. Call 01865 728953 for further details.
