SADIA Hameed, a spokeswoman for the Council of Ex-Muslims of Britain, is to give a talk tonight about community leaders.
She has featured in Islam’s Non-Believers, a documentary film by award-winning film-maker Deeyah Khan.
Ms Hameed will speak at Oxford Brookes University’s John Henry Brookes Building in Headington, from 6pm to 7.45pm, and her talk is entitled ‘The problem with community leaders’.
The talk to the Quilliam Society will put forward the idea that in many minority cultures there is a ‘cultural hierarchy with self-appointed community leaders, voicing the true opinion of the community’.
