OXFORD's Royal Mail depot is expecting its peak post today with thousands of letters and packages being delivered across 26,000 of the city's addresses.
This morning, the Oxford Mail spoke to staff at the city's main sorting office in Oxpens Road.
Staff said it is expected 11,500 parcels will be delivered today, along with more than 140,000 letters.
The last recommended posting dates for Christmas are:
Second Class – Tuesday, December 20
First Class – Wednesday, December 21
Special Delivery – Thursday, December 22
Customers are advised to help Royal Mail ensure all their letters, cards and parcels are delivered as quickly and efficiently as possible by taking a few easy steps:
- Post early
- Use a postcode
- Use Special Delivery
- Wrap parcels well and always give a return address
