REMEMBER those very first Christmas memories, when you were trying to figure out why the grown-ups brought a tree inside the house and covered it in colourful baubles?
Some of those memories were formed this weekend as youngsters explored the annual Christmas Tree festival at St James Church in Cowley.
Each year the church invites local groups to decorate a tree in their own style, and then locals are invited to come and wander through the resulting forest.
Among the visitors this weekend were Aimee Calic, five, and sister Emily Calic, eight, who looked on with wonder at the trees
Two-and-a-half-year-old Imogen Espley from Rose Hill also enjoyed the event with her family.
Imogen's dad Tom said: "We took her down last year and she really loved it so we thought we would do it again.
"It's really nice because each tree is special."
As well as exploring the festive forest, Imogen made her own tiny paper tree to take home.
Mr Espley added: "She decorated it with lots of stickers and sequins – it was a great opportunity for a bit of messy play."
