Policing in Blackbird Leys had an international flavour on Friday thanks to a visit by two foreign dignitaries.
Senior police officers from the Caribbean and South Africa joined local Police Community Support Officers Laura Jones and James Kachellekcorr on a tour of the Oxford estate.
Bermudan police Chief Supt Mike Jackman and Senior Assistant Commissioner Molefhe Sejoe, from Botswana, both wanted to learn about Thames Valley Police's neighbourhood policing initiative.
PCSO Jones said: "We just showed them most of the estate, including the Kassam Stadium and the shops. They could see that we knew people on a personal level - and they hadn't seen that before. They thought that was great.
She added: "The Botswanan guy was saying he had a massive area to cover and part of it was near the Kalahari desert. Obviously it was a bit different to us. I'd rather be in Blackbird Leys."
