FROM butterflies to polar bears and penguins, there's a weird ecosystem at Oxfordshire Craft Guild's annual Christmas show.

Dozens of members from the county-wide consortium of crafters are showing off their creations at the Oxfordshire Museum this month and next.

The guild describe the annual show at their 'flagship' exhibition for the year.

Among the wildlife, Vikki Lafford Garside is exhibiting her fabulous fabric butterflies, designed as fashion accessories but so realistic they look as if they could flutter to life.

Designer Sue Pearl, meanwhile, is showing off her felt friends, including a pint-sized penguin and polar bear.

The Oxfordshire Craft Guild is a membership organization of makers working in a wide range of crafts, each with their individual style.

Members are admitted on the basis of the quality of their work.

In the group's mission statement it says: "We believe that the use of materials to create beautiful objects enriches all of our lives and that an understanding of the processes and an appreciation of the results is an essential part of education."

The exhibition, which opened on November 19, runs until December 31.

Visitors can catch it on all museum opening days - Tuesday to Saturday, 10am to 4.45pm and Sunday 2pm to 4.45pm.
