A flood alert is still in place affecting parts of Oxfordshire after Storm Angus battered the south of England earlier this week.

The county is set for more heavy winds and scattered showers throughout the day today, according to the Met Office.

A flood alert issued by the Environment Agency for parts of West Oxfordshire still remains in place.

The Thames river at Godstow Lock reached as high as 0.26m at 10.30am this morning.

Flooding is defined as 'possible' over 0.17m.

Further south of the county the Thames at Abingdon Lock has also passed the threshold for 'possible' flooding.

At 1pm the river was 0.19m high, just over the threshold of 0.17m.

The Ock at Abingdon Peachcroft is just short of the threshold and at midday reported levels as high as 1.23m.

The River Evenlode from Moreton in Marsh to Cassington & the River Glyme at Wootton and Woodstock were declared a flood risk shortly after 5pm yesterday.

Property flooding is not expected but levels were continued to rise this morning.

On Sunday Storm Angus - the first named storm of the winter - brought winds of up to 80mph to the south coast.
