A MAN charged with murder will appear before Oxford Crown Court on Monday.

Iman St Clair, 18, of Kestrel Crescent, Oxford, spoke only to confirm his name, date of birth and address today at Oxford Magistrates’ Court.

St Clair was arrested by Thames Valley Police on Wednesday and was charged with one count of murder on Thursday.

Eamonn Anderson, aged 56, was assaulted in High Street, Oxford on October 25.

Mr Anderson was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital, in Headington, but died as a result of his injuries on November 11.

Family and friends of St Clair were present in the magistrates’ court as leading magistrate Mark Howard said the case would be moved to the crown court.

Mr Howard added: “We have heard that we are not able to here this case in this court or take a plea so you are to be sent to the crown court next Monday, November 21, where the case will be heard.”

Mr Howard said St Clair would be remanded in custody because of the seriousness of the charge.

Members of St Clair’s family called out to the dock saying: “Keep strong brother”.

Police announced tonight three more people had been arrested on suspicion of murder yesterday.

A 23-year-old man and two 17-year-old boys, all from Oxford, were arrested on suspicion of murder.

On Wednesday, an 18-year-old man, and a 17-year-old boy, both from Oxford, were also arrested on suspicion of murder.

All five men have been released on bail until January 16 2017.
