Norman Macrae (Con) won the district council seat with 427 votes. Paul Wesson (Independent) polled 133 and David Wesson (Lab) 50.
The five town councillors elected were Adrian Coomber (Ind), Brian Crossland (Con), Norman Macrae (Con), Philip Scott (Con) and Sheila Stone (Con).
