PLANS to build a several shops, including a Marks and Spencer Foodhall, in Chipping Norton are available to view today.

A public consultation event on proposals to redevelop part of the former Parker Knoll factory site, off London Road, in Chipping Norton, will take place at the Crown and Cushion Hotel between 1 and 8pm.

Simons Group is proposing to redevelop the northern part of the site into a new, small scale Marks and Spencer Foodhall, along with three other shop units.

The plans, which represent an investment of £4m, also include three apartments that would sit above one of the shop units.

Overall, Simons Group’s plans for the site could create over 50 new jobs.

Graeme Cosgrove, group director of development at Simons Group said: “We’re very excited to be bringing forward plans to build a Marks & Spencer Foodhall, alongside three other small shops, to the northern part of the old Parker Knoll factory site in Chipping Norton.

“Our plans will create around 50 new jobs, give local people another reason to shop in Chipping Norton, and boost the local economy."

Alongside the consultation event, in the coming days, thousands of leaflets will be distributed across Chipping Norton, and the plans will be made available at parkerknollregeneration.com.

McCarthy and Stone will consult separately on its plans for the southern portion of the site in the coming weeks and a separate notification will be issued about this additional consultation event.
