DRIVERS are facing long delays on all approaches to Headington roundabout after an earlier traffic light fault.
Motorists have been asked to approach the roundabout with care as the lights flicker as a result of an electrical fault.
The lights have now been fixed but is causing severe congestion along the Eastern By-Pass Road, A40 and London Road.
One driver warned motorists that an accident will occur on Headington roundabout due to broken traffic lights.
Mary-Jane Sareva, who drove around the roundabout with her son in car in the past hour, described the situation as 'horrific'.
She said: "It was horrific, I thought I’d be hit.
"I was going from Headington towards Barton and the cars were shooting over the roundabout from London.
"It’s terrible that lights can just go out like that so frequently."
"They’re not just dead, it was flickering red, then amber then red.
"I thought there’d be a crash, 100 per cent. Someone nearly hit my car. I’ll be taking the back roads home."
