Cloudy skies obscured last night's supermoon for many people in Oxfordshire, but some still managed to catch a glimpse of the extra-terrestrial phenomenon.
Sky gazers saw a larger moon than normal on Sunday night, but last night the Earth's only natural satellite was the closest it has been to us in 69 years.
Nothing will match it until the moon makes a similar approach on November 25 2034.
At 11.23am yesterday the gap between the Earth and the moon closed to its shortest point - a distance of 221,525 miles (356,510km).
Shortly before 5pm it became visible to people in the UK, although in most areas cloudy conditions meant it was hard to spot.
