POLICE are on the hunt for pair who broke into a man’s Oxford home and threatened him with a knife and attacked him while he lay in bed.

Two attackers forced entry to a property in Burchester Avenue, Barton, on Saturday, November 5. Police launched a witness appeal this afternoon.

One of them threatened a man, who was in bed at the time, with a knife and demanded money before punching him. The second offender pushed over a woman in the house.

Both offenders then left the home empty-handed. The residents received medical attention but are not in a serious condition as a result of the incident.

Investigating officer Det Sgt Wojciech Spyt, from Oxford Force CID, said: "Detectives are investigating the aggravated burglary and we would like to speak to anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area at the time of the incident or anyone in the area who may have found any masks discarded.

"While I appreciate incidents of this nature can sometimes cause concern in the community, our early indication is that this may have been a targeted incident. If anyone wishes to raise any issues, or has any information, they are able to call our non-emergency number 101."
