A GROUP of people who were left feeling frustrated and isolated following the the election of Donald Trump as the American president held a ‘love rally’ in the centre of Oxford.
The event was organised by American and British students to create a feeling of togetherness and community following the shock election result, as well as other global events like Brexit.
Scores of people gathered in Broad Street with signs bearing messages of positivity and perseverance.
One of the organisers, Elizabeth Shaughnessy, 26, who is originally from California and moved to Oxford in September to study global governance and diplomacy at the Department of International Development, said: “It was very positive and uplifting. It all came down to the point that we’re all in this together.”
