More than 1,200 homes suffer power cut, and some are still out
MORE than 1,200 homes in the Bampton area lost their power last night and some were waiting until midday to be reconnected.
Power firm SSE said the cut happened at 8.15pm, and power was gradually restored to customers over night.
Guy Wiseman, who lives in Bampton, was still waiting for his power to be reconnected at 10.30pm and contacted the Oxford Mail to say he was worried about his freezer and a cold night for his baby.
SSE said this morning it had reconnected all but six or seven properties and hoped to have those back online by midday.
