A MAN was rescued by firefighters after his car crashed into a tree and was left hanging over an embankment near Kingham train station.
Emergency services were called to the scene at around 3am today and found the man trapped in his car, hanging over an embankment held in place by a tree that was embedded in the rear passenger compartment.
Fire crews secured the vehicle to prevent it sliding further down before using hydraulic cutting equipment to free the driver.
The man was assessed and provided first aid care before being seen to by South Central Ambulance Service.
The officer attending, David Luke said: “This is one of a number of road traffic collisions that Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service have attended recently.
"I would like to stress the importance of paying attention to the road and weather conditions as the winter approaches and driving conditions worsen.”
The cause of the collision is being investigated by Thames Valley Police.
