THE percentage of A-Levels awarded top A* and A grades seems set to rise in Oxfordshire and will outperform the national average.
Early results suggest about 35 per cent of entries were given the top grades, up about two per cent from last year and 9 percentage points higher than the national average.
Several city schools recorded their best ever results, including Cheney School, The Oxford Academy and Oxford Spires Academy.
And there was also a strong performance for independent schools in Oxford.
Many students are set to head to top universities and there have been many tales of triumph against adversity.
