COINS, postcards and David Bowie records were among items up for sale in Kidlington.

The village's monthly antiques fair saw collectors and bargain hunters turn out looking for hidden treasures.

Vintage postcard collector David Brown was tempted by a 18th century wax jack, which was used to seal letters.

The Cutteslowe resident said: "I was told it was worth over £1,000, and that it was only kept by the richest people who lived in big houses."

Every month the fair, held in Kidlington Methodist Church, attracts collectors from across the country.

Organiser Graham Kirby said: "This time we had three store holders here for the first time – we try to mix up what we sell for variety.

"We aim to attract various customers, including those who are just passing and want to drop in.

"We find people travel a long way to have a look at the antiques stuff."

Other collectables on offer included picture postcards, antique silver and die-cast models.

The next market will be held on Saturday March 19.
