Downton Abbey creator Julian Fellowes has said he would love to see the hit drama turned into a movie.
The final series of Downton ended with a special episode on Christmas Day which topped the TV ratings with 6.6 million viewers.
The series creator said: "I won't be mysterious. If they decide to do it, I'll certainly do it. I think it would be great."
In December Lord Fellowes thanked the people of Oxfordshire for being "supportive and hospitable" during filming.
He said residents of Bampton in West Oxfordshire, where many outdoor scenes were filmed, had been "really charming."
He said at the time: "Nomally when filming comes the first day everyone's terrible excited and then by about the third month people get fed up with it.
"But they have remained supportive and hospitable right through the whole filming period.
"We are so grateful to them."
Lord Fellowes spoke about his desire for a Downton Abbey movie as his latest TV creation is about to hit TV screens.
Doctor Thorne is an adaptation of an Anthony Trollope novel.
