OXFORD United fans will see some of their favourite players get a bit of custard pie treatment this weekend.

U’s stars Kemar Roofe, Chey Dunkley, Johnny Mullins and Freddie Grant appear on children’s TV channel Nicktoons on Saturday as part of a new football programme.

The quartet will be on Nick Kicks, which sees fans of football clubs gain access behind the scenes to meet their heroes.

Top-scorer Kemar Roofe and defender Chey Dunkley got more than they bargained for with a face full of custard as they played Team Mate Challenge.

This involved the duo answering questions in a ‘Mr & Mrs’ style format where their answers had to match to avoid the inevitable messy forfeit.

Centre-half Chey Dunkley, 24, who is more used to heading footballs than custard pies, revelled in a bit of light-hearted banter away from United’s promotion push from Sky Bet League Two.

He added: “It was a bit of fun and we all really enjoyed filming it.

“The questions were based on things like who was most likely to score an own goal or who was the fastest and we did really well with the answers.

“But Johnny Mullins and Freddie Grant had the pies and did not seem to care if we got them right or wrong.”

It will be the second time United have appeared on the 22-minute programme after they were seen answering 11 quick-fire questions and doing impressions of their favourite animals last month.
