BANBURY MAGISTRATES

  • Jonathan Boyce, 46, of Lapsley Drive, Banbury, admitted pursuing a course of conduct that amounted to harassing Paula Munday by sending unwanted parcels and texts and caused damage to her vehicle between December 6 and December 29 last year. Handed a community order with a rehabilitation activity requirement of up to 25 days. Also ordered to pay £250 compensation, £60 victim surcharge and £85 costs.
  • Aaron French, 24, of no fixed abode, admitted two counts of criminal damage to property worth under £5,000. Damaged a garden gate and child chalk board belonging to Emily Pinker in Blakes Avenue, Witney, and destroyed a car window screen belonging to Joshua Macartney, on August 22 last year. admitted assaulting Joshua Macartney by beating him that same day. Admitted using threatening words or behaviour to cause Chelsea French on January 14 and Deborah French on January 15. Admitted to possessing cannabis on January 15 and damaging a police cell on January 16. Handed a community order with rehabilitation activity requirement of up to 25 days and ordered to carry out 200 hours unpaid work. Ordered to pay £200 compensation, £60 victim surcharge and £170 costs.
  • Zabair Hafiz, 29, of Kingfisher Drive, Banbury, admitted driving a Volkswagen Golf on the southbound carriageway A1M motorway near Glatton, Peterborough, Cambridgeshire, at a speed of more than 70mph on June 4, last year. Was driving at 95mph. Handed a £100 fine and ordered to pay £20 victim surcharge. Also Had Three points added to his driving licence.
  • Thomas O’Gorman, 25, of Fieldfare Close, Bicester, admitted common assault on Ellis Rodney in Market Square, Bicester, on August 28 last year. Admitted obstructing or resisting Special Constable James Ashford in execution of their duty on the same day. Ordered to pay £250 compensation, fined £200 and ordered to pay £20 victim surcharge and £85 costs.
  • Nicholas Carnall, 24, of Mallard Drive, Witney, admitted breaching a community order made by Banbury Magistrates’ Court on November 16 last year by failing to comply with unpaid work requirements on December 21 and January 18. Fined £50.
  • Daniel Towner, 22, of Linnet Road, Bodicote, admitted failing to comply with a community order made by Banbury Magistrates’ Court in August, for assaulting Evan Penczek by beating him on May 10 last year, by failing to attend unpaid work on December 13 and January 10. Handed eight-week prison sentence suspended for 12 months and ordered to carry out 110 hours' unpaid work.
  • Barry Doyle, 35, of Station Approach, Banbury, found guilty of using public electronic communications network to make a phone call that was grossly offensive or indecent, obscene or menacing of character on December 17 last year. Fined £150 and handed a restraining order banning him from contacting Angela Workman or Tracey Towner except via social services or the courts. Ordered to pay £20 victim surcharge and £300 costs.

  • Bernard Day, 44, of Ashurst Ward, Littlemore Hospital, Oxford, admitted breaching a criminal behaviour order by begging in Oxford on January 19 last year. Admitted breaching a criminal behaviour order by sitting on the floor outside a shop in Oxford on February 6 last year. Also admitted breaching a criminal behaviour order by begging in Oxford on February 9 last year. Admitted breaching a criminal behaviour order by begging in Oxford on April 30 last year. Fined £100 and ordered to pay a £20 victim surcharge.
  • Laura Emery, 37, of Paradise Street, Oxford, admitted stealing a charity box with £17 inside belonging to Great Ormond St Hospital from The Mitre, Lincoln College, High Street, Oxford, on January 23. Also admitted stealing a charity box belonging to Thames Valley Air Ambulance from Pen to Paper, London Road, Headington, on January 26. Admitted stealing a handbag belonging to Sophie Knowels[corr] at Oxford Railway Station, Park End Street, on February 2. Admitted stealing a handbag from Cristina Patrascanu at The Swan and Castle, Castle Street, on April 4. Handed a 16-week sentence, suspended for 12 months, with a drug rehabilitation requirement. Ordered to pay £155 compensation and a £80 victim surcharge.
  • Ricky Gregory, 33, of Warburg Crescent, Oxford, admitted drink-driving in Oct Street on January 23. Had 98 micrograms of alcohol in 100ml of breath, above the legal limit of 35 micrograms. Fined £600 and ordered to pay a £60 victim surcharge and £85 costs. Handed a one-year driving ban.
  • Iain Milligan, 25, of Thomson Terrace, Oxford, admitted assaulting Benjamin Bloor in Oxford on October 17 last year. Handed a community order, with a rehabilitation activity requirement. Ordered to pay £200 compensation, a £60 victim surcharge and £85 costs.
  • Daniel Boore, 26, of Stonhouse Crescent, Radley, Abingdon, admitted damaging three tables, three chairs, a fire extinguisher and a window worth £327.60 at Fitzharrys School, Northcourt Road on July 6 last year. Handed a 12-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £327.60 compensation and £15 victim surcharge.
  • Sophie Jamison, 18, of Greenwood Meadow, Chinnor, admitted assaulting a constable in the execution of his duty at The Black Horse Pub, Thame, on January 23. Admitted assaulting a constable in the execution of her duty at Abingdon Police Station on January 24. Fined £150 and ordered to pay £100 compensation, a £20 victim surcharge and £90 costs.
  • Gary Long, 26, of Craufurd Road, Oxford, admitted using threatening or abusive words or behaviour or disorderly behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress in Park End Street on January 23. Also admitted causing criminal damage by destroying a window belonging to Mohammed Jielani in Park End Street on January 23. Admitted assaulting a constable in the execution of her duty in Park End Street on January 23. Fined £220 and ordered to pay £700 compensation and a £20 victim surcharge.
