A TRAPPED bird has sparked an emergency rescue mission in Oxford city centre this evening.
Firefighters cordoned off part of Cornmarket Street near Moss Bros and HSBC at the junction with Queen Street at about 5.50pm.
A cherry picker was brought in and the cordon was set up surrounding it.
A man with a cage was raised up to rescue the bird - a crow - that had become trapped.
The drama was over within about 20 minutes.
Emergency services have not confirmed how or where the bird is trapped.
