WHY are there no Oxfordshire County Council information posters in Marston to inform residents of the public exhibitions showing the proposals to alter our roadways and pavements and green verges (with trees) under the “Access to Headington Scheme”?

Locals will be affected by the major plans to change Marsh Lane, Cherwell Drive and Headley Way and Headington.

There was a lot of interest with many locals attending and voicing their opinions at the initial consultation at St Anthony of Padua, Headley Way, in July 2015.

Today's Letters

We were invited to leave our contact details with the promise that we would be contacted when further details were available.

We were encouraged to submit written opinions to the consultation at Oxfordshire County Council in Speedwell Street (August 2015). I did both but I’m still waiting to be informed about the forthcoming public exhibitions!

Luckily I noticed a small article in the Oxford Mail on February 15 which gave details of the exhibitions.

Unless you read the Oxford Mail daily or are able to fathom how to access information via a computer how can you possibly be aware when there is anything currently relevant to your community?

Oxfordshire County Council’s failure to inform and engage means that we are denied the details regarding developments that affect how we live.

It is common sense that we are given information and in enough time to be able to attend meetings with the consultation teams allowed the freedom and flexibility to listen and adapt plans to provide a workable scheme that works for Residents and people accessing or moving through Marston and Headington.

A reminder of the public exhibitions: Wood Farm School, February 24, 3pm-8pm; St Anthony’s, Headley Way February 27 from 10am to 4pm; Wood Farm School, March 2, 2-8pm; Old Road Campus Research Building, March 3 11am- 6pm; St Andrews Primary School, 10am-4pm.
