INDUSTRIOUS youngsters built skeleton creatures out of a classic children's toy at the Museum of Oxford.
Participants were challenged on Monday to design and build bony animals using the nation's favourite plastic toy construction system K'Nex.
After putting the finishing touches on their wacky designs they were handed model organs, including squishy eyes, brains and hearts, to see whether their design would work.
Eight-year-old Lilia Jessop from Oxford said: "I liked the gooey eyes and planning and building my structure."
She was joined by Johannes Arndt, five, from Witney, who added: "I liked the squidgy brains".
Since its creation in the early 1990s K'Nex has been a popular toy in family homes across the UK.
It features interlocking plastic rods, connectors, gears and wheels that can be used by children to make everything from planes to roller coasters - and new life forms.
Monday's session at the Museum of Oxford in Oxford Town Hall, St Aldate's, was run by local educational group Science Oxford.
