A DEDICATED amateur photographer has snapped the “perfect” sunrise after months driving past the same viewpoint.

Anthony Inwood works as in IT contractor in Witney, but says his real passion is photography.

The 49-year-old, who runs a photography business in his spare time, spent months driving through Burford to get to work and staring out the window at what he thought could make the perfect sunrise shot.

After he finally snapped the picture, overlooking the flooded fields and the River Windrush by St John the Baptist Church, Mr Inwood shared it on Facebook and Twitter with the line “good things come to those who wait” and said he had an “amazing” response.

The picture had more than 380 likes on Facebook and the Vicar of Burford the Rev Richard Coombes is now hoping he will be able to use it on the church’s website.

Mr Inwood said: “I’m chuffed. I kept thinking this place looked like it had great potential.

“It’s great having the composition but you need the clouds to be right and the light.

“I needed everything to happen at the same time, and with all the wet and the rain it’s been quite flooded.”

Mr Inwood, who lives in Bourton-on-the-Water with fiancée Tracey and her eight-year-old son Aydin, eventually grabbed his perfect shot at about 7.25am.
