A charity set up by inspirational five-year-old Skye Hall has been targeted by fraudsters.

His mum, Sally, 37, found that direct debit monthly payments of £250 were being transferred for someone to pay their mobile phone and BT landline from the Blue Skye Thinking bank account.

Fortunately, Mrs Hall realised the strange activity and alerted the bank, who reimbursed the £500 that was stolen.

The mother-of-three said: "It's heartless. If I could I would take the person to Kamran's Ward in the JR to see what damage they are doing.

"Luckily I spotted it when I was checking the end-of-year accounts and contacted the bank.

"They confirmed that someone had set up a direct debit payment.

"It was a shock, we have security measures in place, and we managed to get the money back and we were assured that any donations made through the website are safe.

"I suppose you don't think anyone would cross that line, especially when it's a charity."

Skye, of Abingdon, died in August 2014 as a result of the treatment he received while battling a brain tumour for a year.

Since then, the five-year-old’s parents Sally, 37 and Andrew, 43, have campaigned to raise money for research into new treatments to tackle childhood cancers.

To date Blue Skye Thinking has raised more than £250,000 for research into treatments to help children suffering from brain tumours.
