Declan Monaghan, 18, of Orchard Way, Wantage, admitted causing criminal damage by damaging a police cell in Abingdon on January 17. Ordered to pay £73 compensation and £85 costs.

Jason Waller, 40, of no fixed abode, admitted being a sex offender and failing to sign on at Abingdon Police Station between August 23 last year and January 30. Committed to prison for 18 weeks. Also ordered to pay an £80 victim surcharge.

Ian Parkins, 47, of Leamington Drive, Faringdon, was convicted of assaulting Emma Luker by beating her in Leamington Drive, Faringdon, on October 17 last year. Geoffrey Muirhead, 36, of O’Hanlon House, Luther Street, Oxford, admitted stealing a Jack and Owen coat, an orange rucksack containing personal items and a grey Android device worth £99 from the staff room of Browns Bar and Brasserie, Woodstock Road, Oxford, on January 29. Also admitted stealing a Jordan rucksack and contents worth £80 from Nosebag Restaurant, St Michael’s Street, Oxford, on January 25. Committed to prison for 32 weeks and ordered to pay an £80 victim surcharge.

Philip Effah, 36, of Kimmeridge Road, Cumnor, Oxford, admitted failing to tell the Vale of White Horse District Council his wife’s earnings had increased, affecting entitlement to housing benefit, between September 2, 2013, and March 23, 2015. Also admitted failing to tell the Vale of White Horse District Council he was receiving a student loan, affecting entitlement to housing benefit, between January 21, 2013, and March 23, 2015. Also admitted failing to tell the Vale of White Horse District Council he became a student and was receiving student finance, affecting entitlement to council tax reduction, between April 1, 2013, and March 4, 2015. Also admitted failing to tell the Vale of White Horse District Council his wife’s earnings had increased, affecting entitlement to council tax reduction, between September 2, 2013, and May 22, 2015. Handed a community order, with a 40-hour unpaid work requirement. Also ordered to pay £125 costs and a £60 victim surcharge.

Lenny Trinder, 28, of Fox Close, Chipping Norton, admitted possessing a Class-A drug – cocaine – in Rectory Road, Oxford, on August 28 last year. Also admitted possessing another Class-A drug – heroin. Fined £74 and ordered to pay £20 victim surcharge and £85 costs.

Peter Watkins, 33, of Littlemore Mental Health Centre, Sandford Road, Oxford, admitted assaulting Louise Craig by beating her at Littlemore Hospital, Oxford, on June 5 last year. Handed a 12-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £100 compensation, £15 victim surcharge, and £85 costs. Also admitted assaulting Kathryn Brown by beating her at Littlemore Hospital, Oxford, on July 6 last year. Handed a 12-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £250 compensation.

Joshua Quinn, 20, of Pinnocks Way, Botley, admitted possessing a controlled drug of Class B with intent to supply. Had 17.83g of cannabis at his home on May 19 last year. Handed a six-month prison sentence suspended for a year. Also given a 12-month supervision order and ordered to carry out 150 hours’ unpaid work. Jason Glover, 35, of High Cross Way, Barton, admitted stealing air fresheners worth £105.47 from the Co-operative store in Banbury Road, Oxford, on October 15, 2014. Also admitted breaching a community order by failing to attend supervision and drug rehabilitation on September 5, 2014. Handed a community order with electronically-tagged curfew, drug rehabilitation requirement and rehabilitation activity requirement of up to 25 days. Ordered to pay a £60 victim surcharge and £50 costs.

Dexter Thompson, 33, of no fixed abode, admitted stealing Hugo Boss fragrance worth £39 from Boots in Cornmarket Street on January 18 this year. Alexander MacDonald, 27, of Broad Bush, Blunsdon, Swindon, admitted theft by employee by stealing £2,348.22 in cash from McColls Retail Group in Abingdon on January 19 last year. Also admitted criminal damage to property under £5,000 by damaging CCTV belonging to McColls Retail Group on January 19 last year. Handed a community order with a three-month supervision requirement and 60 hours’ unpaid work. Also ordered to pay £565.62 in compensation and a £60 victim surcharge.
