Motorists travelling in and out of Oxford city centre are facing up to 30 minute delays along Botley Road.
Traffic is backed up from Frideswide Square to Seacourt tower in both directions and there is also congestion in Thames Street, Beaumont Street, A4144 and down West Way.
The Oxford Bus Company announced that due to severe congestion a number of services will terminate at the city centre.
Due to severe congestion Rail Station area X3 13 5 and 4C services are terminating City Centre.

Queues are also heading back to Abingdon Road.
One driver said it took him 40 minutes to get to Osney from Rose Hill.
Tony Stoyle tweeted in to The Oxford Mail and said he had been stuck for 40 minutes from Redbridge to the ice rink.
