Sir – I was delighted to read the article about Didcot being the place that Oxfordshire has chosen to study the ‘mini-Holland’ idea that Transport for London is already testing in three boroughs.

This is important because for most people to try cycling they need to feel safe from end-to-end of their journey, which needs more than the current ‘patchwork’ approach to cycle routes.

I have switched from car to bike for my own journey to the station and I find it takes about the same time, but is much more consistent because I don’t get held up in traffic jams. Also I don’t have to spend time in the gym.
