People across Oxfordshire went to the polls today to elect councillors to district, town and parish councils.
Across the country, there were key elections to the Scottish Parliament and the Welsh Assembly.
Nationally, the results will be looked at in the context of Tony Blair's legacy as Prime Minister.
But in Abingdon, where people were casting their votes at the Northcourt Centre, it was the town's controversial new traffic system that was a key polling day issue A Conservative voter in the Fitzharris ward said she thought the new system - including making Stratton Way two-way - was easier and safer for pedestrians and the streets were less polluted.
More critical of the traffic system, introduced last October and blamed for leading to increased delays, was a long time Tory voter who decided to switch allegiance and vote Lib Dem.
Other issues on voters' minds were the parking charges in the town centre, the future of the Old Gaol and improvements to the Bury Street shopping precinct.
There were elections for West Oxfordshire District Council, Cherwell District Council, South Oxfordshire District Council and Vale of the White Horse District Council.
