STUDENTS at Oxford’s schools celebrated another set of strong exam results when they received their GCSE grades yesterday.
The Oxford Academy was one of a number of state schools to record better results than last year. There was a huge increase in the number of pupils at the Littlemore school who achieved five or more more GCSEs at grades A* to C, up to 58 per cent from 34 per cent last year.
Pupils Bethany Gee and Enya Christiansen, both 16, were among those delighted with their results.
Bethany, who got two A*s, four As, four Bs and a C said: “I’m very happy.” Enya opened her results envelope to see she had achieved one A, nine Bs and two Cs.
There was also good news for students at Cheney School in Headington, Oxford Spires Academy and The Cherwell School, where results improved once again.
