YOUNGSTERS rolled up their sleeves, donned fluorescent jackets and reached for litter pickers to help give their area a summer spruce up.
Residents of Greater Leys united to clean up their area and empty their homes of unwanted items including washing machines, mattresses and electrical equipment.
Other residents used the clean up to get rid of garden waste, including trees and cuttings.
The clean, organised by Catalyst Housing and GreenSquare Housing Association, gave neighbours the chance to clear their homes and gardens.
An army of dust busters of all ages then grabbed their litter pickers to collect rubbish from a variety of streets from 10am to 1pm on Tuesday. [Aug 18] The litter pickers cleared up the paths and communal areas in Choswell Spring, Pottery Piece, Plover Drive, Long Ground, Saxifrage Square and Cranesbill Way.
