AN EMU is believed to be on the loose in the Wheatley area, Thames Valley Police said.
The South Oxfordshire and Vale of White Horse branch tweeted that the animal had been reported missing.
Officers put out an appeal to try to trace the bird at about 4pm yesterday.
The police said the animal is five months old and has a distinctive white mark on her beak.
Anyone who sees the elusive bird should contact 101 and ask for PCSO Dollery.
