A MAN was arrested after a police raid at Redbridge Hollow travellers’ site.
Officers in riot gear entered the site shortly before 2pm on Saturday and there was a large police presence outside the site and at Egrove Park, Kennington Road.
About four police cars and three vans were at the entrance of Egrove Park, which is owned by Oxford University, and officers were seen putting on protective clothing there before entering Redbridge Hollow.
The entrance to the site was also blocked by two police cars.

Police spokesman James Williams said they force raided the site to make an arrest after an alleged breach of bail.
He said a 28-year-old man from Oxford was arrested for breaching bail conditions and is is currently in police custody.
The travellers’ site was raided by police and trading standards officers in October and three men were arrested in a separate incident.
In March, the site was raided again by officers, as part of anti-slavery Operation Rague. They made eight arrests and two in other parts of Oxford.
