A cat was shot with what police believe was an air rifle.
Thames Valley Police said the animal was injured on Wednesday, August 5. Vets worked to remove a pellet from the cat’s body the next day.
Officers believe the injury happened when the animal was on the Oxford Canal towpath or near the canal.
Pc Craig Ridgley, from Banbury police station, said: “We are keen to find out if this is an isolated incident or one in a series.
“If your cat has been injured by an air pellet please get in contact.”
Call Pc Ridgley via the 101 police line.
