An elderly woman was the victim of a distraction burglary in West Way.
Police said the woman was targeted at about 6.30pm on Thursday when a man knocked on her door and said he needed to come into the house and check something.
He then forced his way through the door and searched through cupboards and drawers.
He asked the victim for cash and then picked her up and put her on the sofa.
No items were stolen.
Officers said the culprit was white, about 5ft 6ins tall and of medium build.
He was wearing a light-coloured top.
