Oxfordshire is set to be hit by heavy rain and thunder during the early hours of Thursday morning before pushing further northwards during the day.
The Met Office has issued a severe weather warning for the region, meaning the public should be aware of a risk of localised disruption due to surface water flooding.
Up to 50mm of rain could fall, and there may even be thunder and hail.
Helen Roberts, Met Office meteorologist said: “Although there may be a few bright spells in Oxfordshire during the afternoon, the rain will be back in the evening.
“It’s set to be a very wet Thursday.”
Lighting and hail are likely to be additional hazards.
