IT IS odd that the only one of the big four supermarkets not paying a bit extra to hard-pressed dairy farmers is Asda, which was started by them.
It is now owned by the American giant, Walmart.
To be fair the discounters are just as bad. When buying milk from these shops why not leave an extra 10p per half litre provided it goes to the farmer?
It won’t cause trouble for the assistant but might for the management.
