A CONSERVATIVE town councillor for Witney North, Dean Temple, has tried to join the Labour Party as a supporter.
To do this he has declared that he believes in the Labour Party’s aims and values.
We have uncovered his trick, and he will not get to vote in our leadership election. We will not be returning his £3 joining fee.
Assuming he wishes to remain a Tory, this unpleasant and undemocratic behaviour calls his judgement and integrity into serious question. Respectable political parties do not countenance such behaviours in members, let alone elected councillors.
What action will the Conservative Party take?
CHRIS JOHNSON
Chairman, Witney Constituency Labour Party
