THE collision involving a pedestrian at the A40 Forest Hill turn bus stop towards Oxford has highlighted a potential danger in the future.
The 108/118 bus service serving Forest Hill and surrounding villages is under threat. Although a limited service, it is well-used by commuters schoolchildren shoppers and the elderly.
Should this service cease, an increasing number of people will attempt to cross the A40 to catch the bus to Oxford.
There are no traffic controls on this side unlike the A40 eastbound to Wheatley where the traffic eases with the Thornhill lights at red. Pedestrian lights or a bridge at the Forest Hill turn would be an alternative but unlikely.
I hope the young lady in question recovers quickly from her injuries.
