A NEW bespoke furniture and fashion store has been launched in Burford by Oxford hospice Helen and Douglas House.

Eclectic Heart opened in the town’s High Street on August 7 for the hospice for children and young people in Magdalen Road, East Oxford. Everything sold in the shop helps raise money to run the hospice, which cares for children and young adults with life-limiting illnesses. The shop sells bespoke upcycled furniture, clothes and a range of eclectic retro, vintage and modern items.

Head of retail at Helen and Douglas House Lesley Gorton said all the customers she had seen at Eclectic Heart so far seemed to love the new store.

She added: “We are now the largest hospice chain in the country and we are really happy with the appearance of the shop which is in keeping with Burford.”

Helen and Douglas House is a charity relying heavily on donations to cover its £5m a year running costs.

Eclectic Heart can be found at 50 High Street, Burford.
