IT MIGHT have been difficult for little Jack Halliwell to watch the birdie at Headington Farmers’ Market this weekend.
Perched on his head was a little chicken, one of the many creatures – both feathery and fluffy – that were delighting punters at the market’s petting zoo.
The weekly market in New High Street allowed families to get up close to ducks, chickens, piglets, sheep, goats and rabbits on Saturday.
Headington resident Jon Halliwell took his two-and-a-half year old son Jack to the market to meet the petting zoo animals.
He said: “The petting zoo was good. It’s nice to have something for kids to get down to the market. Jack enjoyed it. It’s a good experience for him.”
Headington Farmers’ Market was set up by Headington Action in September 2007.
